Here’s what the experts are saying about thingytail for Mac, by Vick Lennard / MacPorts: see my instructions for MacPorts page. Basically the procedure is to list your ports and uninstall them before upgrade, install the OS, reinstall MacPorts, and reinstall your ports. Set PERL5LIB=/Users/myname/bin:/opt/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.26 or installs will fail with messages about variants. So near and yet so very far thingytail for Mac has the two pros and cons. There are a larger number of pros than cons with the program however since it has a free trial, you can look at it before you buy it. The program has a minimal effort, which is under $20.00. If macOS Sierra 10.12.4 or later was never installed on your Mac, macOS Recovery works differently: * Clear temporary files

Usually kernel extensions are located in in /System/Library/Extensions and end with the extension , while hidden files are mostly located in your home folder. You can use Terminal (inside Applications/Utilities) to list the contents of the directory in question and delete the offending item.
Worried about messing up crucial macOS settings with TinkerTool and having no way of going back? Rest assured that you can revert all the changes you make with the app and restore settings to their original state. All it takes is a click of the Reset to pre-TinkerTool state button on the Reset pane of the app.
Check your Stocks in the new desktop app. Apple macOS 10.14 Mojave.
Although it seems to do what it's supposed to do, I really would like to see a more user friendly GUI. Similar to a Techtool GUI. It's hard for me to really understand what it's doing.

Some users report that their attempt to install fails with the message "macOS could not be installed on your computer" halfway through. Make sure you clone your hard disk before you start installing. Some users had trouble installing the Supplemental Update.
New to this release is compatibility with Mac OS X 10.5.4, a bug fix in which Firefox 3 bookmarks were reverted to an outdated version during clearing of Internet caches, a fix for a problem that could cause thingytail to stop responding during clearing of the user caches, and a fix for the uninstaller related to resetting UDP settings to their default value.
